The High Dials confounded expectations with their fifth LP, in the words of Shindig! boldly "ripping their technicolour facsimile to shreds and reassembling the pieces in an abstract collage of blues and greys." Inspired by urban nightlife as a kind of surreal wilderness, the High Dials and co-producer Marc Bell strip back the layers and turn up the groove - with shoegaze textures and electro flourishes added to a pulsing backbeat. With trademark jangling guitars, harmonies and melodic sensibilities intact, the High Dials write another chapter in their unique evolution.
